Empowerment Workshop for Racialised Clubbers

dif invites you to join a free independent workshop discussing racialised struggle in club culture.

What racialised means at dif:
Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, including Asians, SWANA folks, and Roma. It also includes people who face discrimination based on religion, such as Jewish and Muslim individuals, as well as those affected by imperialism, such as people from the Balkans or Eastern European countries.

Who should think of joining:
This workshop is about empowering racialised clubbers whether they are dancers/clubbers, technicians, DJs/live musicians/performers, door staff/security/awareness teams, operators, bookers, promoters, hospitality staff, MUHA artists… and newbies or veterans from 18 to 100, all genders, all abilities.
We will also address different intersections such as ableism, ageism, class, gender, etc. Allies are welcome too.

To attend on Saturday September 14th, 2024 – 3 to 5PM online, please sign up by email to info @ dif-ev.org and send us:
• First or last or artist name and at least 1 pronoun (no full name as we aim not to store much personal data)
• What do you do in the field of clubbing?
• Are you a racialised person or an ally?
• List more of your intersections if you wish
• Do you have accessibility needs or other questions?

Update: during the workshop we discussed certain problems and good practice solutions, illustrated below as we aim to shed the dead leaves of discrimination, and grow a new canopy of inclusivity and awareness on the clubbing scene wish tree.
